WHO or WHAT is a real fan?

I always knew that it’s not easy to be a Pakistan cricket fan. They are brilliant one day and quite ordinary the other, but do these men who represent the country really deserve the abuse that we as fans shower down on them? I know…I know, we “LOVE” our country and we “LOVE” our team that is why we are hard on them or another side of the argument is “we also shower praises on them when they do well”.

Guess what? I call Bull S*it on the arguments above. If you can’t support your team or anyone for that matter, when they are down on their luck then don’t come cheering when they are on the rise. These men who dress themselves in green leave their families for months at a time and perform their “national duty”, with no questions asked, deserve a little respect. Who are we to criticize them using language which is so derogatory and filthy that even a rating of “MA” will be lenient? We are all disappointed as to how the WC campaign has gone so far, but for crying out loud, its 2 games. We have 4 more to go which can very well turn our fortunes around and who knows what happens after that. I urge all the Pakistan fans to stop the negative campaigns and for once and I plead again, FOR ONCE be a true patriot and support your team till the end.

Patriotism is voluntary. It is a feeling of loyalty and allegiance that is the result of knowledge and belief. A patriot shows their patriotism through their actions, by their choice.
